Israeli navy boats fire at Palestinian fishermen

15 April 2013

GAZA, (PIC)– Israeli navy gunboats fired at Palestinian fishermen while working at sea before dawn Monday and forced them to retreat nearer to the shore.

Sources in the Gaza marine police told the PIC reporter that the Israeli gunboats opened machinegun fire intermittently all throughout the dawn hours.

They said that the shooting took place in Sudaniya to the northwest of the Strip and off the coast of Gaza city and the central areas of the enclave.

The sources pointed out that the fishermen were forced to work only one and a half nautical miles off the coast, adding that no casualties or losses were suffered.
