Ship to Gaza Sweden files a police report on Israeli military commanders

On Tuesday November 19th, at 10 am, Ship to Gaza and 20 injured persons will file a police report on four high-ranking Israeli officers. The report will be filed at the central Stockholm police station on Kungsholmsgatan 43.
Among the injured persons are author Henning Mankell, author and journalist Maria-Pia Boëthius, Green Party member of the Riksdag Mehmet Kaplan, chief physician Victoria Strand, former Social Democratic member of the Riksdag and Professor Sven Britton, Artist and musician Dror Feiler and Captain Joel Opperdoes.
The following crimes will be reported:
- Gross robbery
- Unlawful deprivation of liberty
- Gross assault and assault, and
- Gross unlawful threat
The accused perpetrators are:
- Former Israeli commander in chief Gabiel Ashkenazi,
- Former commander of the Israeli Navy, Eliezer Marom,
- Current Israeli commander in chief Benny Gantz, and
- Current commander of the Israeli Navy Ram Rothberg
The Police report covers the attacks on Ship to Gaza's aid shipments in 2010 and 2012.
Ship to Gaza and the injured persons expect that the report will result in a preliminary investigation, a criminal investigation and a warrant to bring the accused perpetrators to justice in Sweden.
After the report is issued, there will be a press conference at 11 am at the ABF building on Sveavägen 41, in the Erlanderrummet room. The spokespersons for Ship to Gaza Sweden: Ann Ighe, Dror Feiler, and Victoria Strand will all be present – the two latter also being injured persons. So will several of the other injured persons, including Henning Mankell, Maria-Pia Boëthius, Sven Britton, Mattias Gardell and Joel Opperdoes.
Attorneys representing the organization and the injured persons are Per Stadig and Linus Gardell.
