and help bring attention to the suffering of children living under the blockade in Gaza
In anticipation of the spring launch of Gaza's Ark, they will gather on the Mediterranean shore with mini-Arks, 40-cm long wooden model boats representing Gaza's Ark (see photo), and send them off into the sea.
- These mini-Arks will send a symbolic message of defiance against an illegal blockade, made worse by Egypt's crackdown on the Rafah crossing and tunnels, which is destroying their childhood and ruining their future.
- Their message of hope will be made possible with the support of sponsors like you all over the world.
- Be one of those who sponsor a mini-Ark for $50, or co-sponsor one for $25. Your name (or your organization’s name) and the name of your country will be written on the mini-Ark you sponsor.
Part of your contribution will cover the cost of materials and assembly of the mini-Arks. The rest will help finance Gaza's Ark and its direct action "Trade not Aid" mission against the blockade.
29 November Update
Thank you to all those who have sponsored mini Arks. The children of Gaza are looking forward to launching close to 200 mini Arks on November 30th.
If you still would like to make a donation, please do so by clicking the "Thermometer" button on the home page. Thanks.

Ramadan in Gaza – Please Give Generously
Muslims in Gaza – like Muslims all over the world – are currently observing Ramadan. The month of Ramadan ends in early August with the Eid (Feast) which is supposed to be a time of celebration and festivity. But what kind of Ramadan is it for people in Gaza this year and what kind of feast will it be?*
Palestinians in Gaza have endured colossal suffering during the six years of the Israeli blockade. With the new government of Egypt having closed the remaining lifelines that Palestinians in Gaza relied upon, this will surely be the most difficult Ramadan and Eid they have gone through.

Once a traditional craft practiced by village women, Palestinian cross-stitch embroidery has become an important symbol of Palestinian culture. Embroidered pieces can be found in the homes of most Palestinian families in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Israel and the Diaspora beyond, adorning the walls of houses in Jerusalem, villas in the Gulf, and cement block houses in refugee camps.
The popularity of embroidery springs from both its beauty and its association with the Palestine of the past. Common patterns reflect the millennia-long history of the foreign occupations and date as far back as the Canaanites, who lived in the area over three thousand years ago.
Gaza’s Ark is a project supporting Palestinians to rebuild a boat in Gaza, which will carry Palestinian products out to the world. With your support, Gaza's Ark will challenge the unjust blockade of civilians in Gaza. With your support, Palestinians will achieve their right to live with dignity.
We're very close to making an announcement about our boat! Meanwhile, we've made a video telling the story of how Gaza's Ark will challenge the blockade and show that global public opinion hasn't forgotten the struggle for Palestinian rights. It's just five minutes long, but we hope you'll agree it's very powerful. Please watch our video here and share with your networks.
A short video produced by friends in Gaza, Palestine, outlining the importance of the Gaza's Ark project.
You can be a close part of this project by buying Shares in Hope. Find out how here. Thanks.

We chose 3 co-winners.
We would like to thank all the singers and songwriters who submitted songs. We were delighted by the variety in style, lyrics and instrumentation, ranging from solo voice to trumpet introduction!
The winners – in alphabetical order – are listed below but before you listen to any of them we hope you would contribute to Gaza's Ark here (http://www.gazaark.org/donate) even as little as you would pay for a commercial song download.
As we state in our Mission Statement
Building a boat is very complex and has many different components. We have now purchased a fishing boat in Gaza and we have initiated works to refurbish it for sailing on the high seas.
We have made a down payment on the boat and we still need to raise the rest of the money to complete the payment and the rebuilding work.
We need your help now in the completion of Gaza's Ark.
This is how you can do it:
When we receive your contribution we will e-mail you (or mail by post if you prefer) a “Gaza – A share in Hope” symbolic certificate with your name on it and the value that you have donated.
This will make a perfect gift from you. While purchasing the shares give us instructions to put the name of your dear one on the certificate.
If you contribute $1,000 (Canadian) or more, your name can appear on a plaque placed on Gaza’s Ark unless you choose to remain anonymous.
