Dear supporters,

This weekend representatives of the Gaza's Ark steering committee met with our Flotilla Coalition partners in London, England, and this morning we are standing together to tell the world that our campaign to challenge the blockade will not be deterred by threats or by violence.

The media statement from our London press conference is here.

“To honor my Dad, John E. Frank, a NYC firefighter of 33 years, I donate for the onboard fire-fighting system. Please folks, also support the Gazas' Ark communications systems. If FDNY had had sufficient  radio systems on 9/11, many who died in WTC towers would be alive today.”

Alice Walker supports Gaza’s Ark

Pulitzer Prize winning author Alice Walker commented regarding Gaza's Ark: "What, among the many things I love about humans, is my favorite? That they don’t give up. Second, that they’re creative, stubborn, often very funny. Now these particular humans want to build a boat inside Gaza, pack it with stuff made by Gazans, and sail it out into the world, carrying exports for trade! Truly, with huevos y ovarios* of this magnitude, we (humanity) will never be defeated."

Alice Walker

*Having "huevos" is a traditional Hispanic way of saying someone, (usually a man) has "balls" i.e. guts or courage. This more recent usage (having "balls" & ovaries) tries to balance the gender reference to be more inclusive.
